Return Policy

So, you didn’t get what you wanted, wrong color, wrong size, or just not the right item. No worries, with our no-hassle return policy we will get you squared away fast and efficiently. Certain products may have a different return policy. Follow these instructions below to complete your return with Smith Defense Systems, LLC.

You may return any of our products through us within 60 days of delivery for a FULL refund minus any shipping costs(you are responsible for the shipping). Products must be in the condition you received it in, unused, no hair, no sweat stains, no tears, no broken components, no missing pieces, etc. We have the right to refuse any return that does not have an approved RMA# on it.

Steel Core Body Armor and Ceramic Composite Body Armor Returns

Body Armor Packages |

If you purchased a body armor package, you are able to return the WHOLE package, no partial returns are accepted. (example: you cannot keep just the plate carrier and return just the plates) When shipping the body armor package back to us please, please, please, DO NOT ship the package back with the plates in the plate carrier, this causes damage to the plate carrier during its long journey back to our facility, you will be charged for the plate carrier damages.

Steel Core Body Armor |

We will accept returns on this product up to 60 days from the date of delivery. Due to this product being Steel Core Armor we are able to offer a greater return window. We understand that steel core body armor can be a bit heavier than other body armor plates. With that being said we will accept the return as long as it is shipped back following our packaging procedures and has a visible RMA # on the return box.

Composite Ceramic Body Armor |

Due to the nature of these products we have a smaller return window. These products will only be accepted 10- business days from the time of delivery. We will process a FULL refund minus the shipping costs on this product.

The return must be properly packaged to protect against damage in transit. Please note that any damage caused by mishandling, or product defacement will result in your return being denied and the product being returned to you. You as the customer are solely responsible for the shipping cost for the returned product. We recommend using only reputable shipping carriers capable of providing proof of delivery and insurance for the entire value of the shipment. You are responsible for all risks of loss for the returned product during shipment. You as the customer agree that all returned products will be 100% complete, in re-sellable condition.

Please follow these steps in order to send back the product you want to return.

Request an RMA # (Return Merchandise Authorization Number) by emailing please be sure to include in your email the following:
Full Name
Order Number
Reason for your return
Item SKU/Order Summary
All of our returns must be accompanied with an RMA # or they will NOT be accepted. Please write your RMA # on the mailing label or your box.
Include a copy of your invoice, this allows us to pull up your information quicker to provide you a timely process and effective customer service.

Store Credit |

You as the customer have the option to have your refund amount be returned to you as “store credit”. If you would like your refund to be put in your “store credit” account please state that on the copy of your invoice included in the box with your return. If it isn’t stated on the invoice with your return we will automatically process a refund to the original payment method used to purchase the product.

Return Processing |

Our Returns Department works hard every day to complete your return efficiently and quickly. Once your return is received and inspected by our warehouse staff please allow 3-5 business days to process your return. We will reach out to you via email once your return is completed and refunded back to your original payment method. Depending on your credit card company, it may take up to 3-5 business days after we processed your refund to post to your account.
